This is due to some characteristics of the plants such as shape, colour and texture of flowers, branches and leaves. In this study, after introducing Betula pendula Roth., which is one of Turkey`s important forest trees and has decorative features, it has been determined where and how it can be used in plantation design works by taking into consideration botanic design principles such as colour, texture, shape and measure. Furthermore, B. pendula provides various possibilities in environmental designs due to its white trunk and pendulous and scenery image. In addition to being a road-side tree, it can be used with shade bearer or other trees to create some functional designs. Finally, it has been determined that B. pendula can play an important role in the creation of esthetic and functional places in cool regions like East Anatolia due to its resistance to extreme weather conditions.
