In this research, the effects of pre-sowing treatments to the achenes on the germination rate of seed and time of germination was investigated. The following pre-treatment were treated to achenes namely; keeping in sulphuric acid for 10 minutes, cutting the top of the seeds and keeping in 400C water for 30 minutes. Pre-treatment were tested in two different periods including just after removing the seeds from the flesh and after keeping the achenes in 50C during 4 weeks.

The experimental results showed that the germination rates ranged from 1% to 75% and the germination duration from 7 to 24 days. The highest germination rates and the shortest germination duration in the just after removing the achenes from the flesh was obtained sulphuric acid pretreatment and after keeping the achenes in cut the top after cold storage 50C during 4 weeks was obtained cutting the top of achenes.
